![]() ![]() Swiping changes your perspective to the next corner of the room. Tapping around the screen will pick up items and feed you clues. It’s this constant feeling of ‘congrats, but why?’ that makes Tiny Room Stories so engaging. Every plot point feels like an accomplishment, but often they leave the player wanting more. Every item you interact with has a story. Instead, Tiny Room Stories: Town Mystery hides its narrative behind puzzles and locked doors. The game doesn’t bombard the player with a crowd of one-dimensional characters that feed them bits of information. This is one of the game’s most admirable qualities, as every part of the story is something the main character discovers. Clues, keys and passcodes turn up in all sorts of places, especially those you don’t expect.Īfter you’ve opened the gate, you’ll dive into the real story. Leave no folder, bookshelf or couch unturned. Then, you’ll also want to check everything in the room. Your perspective changes from corner to corner, so you can only ever see two adjacent walls at once. For one, you’ll want to make sure that you look at every side of every room. This tutorial will give you the basics of how the game works, but two things will become abundantly clear here. A gate blocks the road ahead, and it’s up to you to figure out how to move it. You’ll start your story at the edge of town. To find out what happened to your father, you’ll have to get your hands dirty. ![]() This time, though, it’s a personal matter. Siberian developer Kiary Games’ Tiny Room Stories: Town Mystery offers the player a chance to step into the detective’s shoes. Your father… Missing? Dead? That mystery is yours to solve. Won’t hit different the first time when playing it, but would still be very enjoyable. An empty town. Tiny Room is very much better than most of the games I’ve seen on the App Store. I couldn’t put my tablet down for even a second. ![]() And wait, only like 2 bucks to unlock the entire game + no ads? What a steel.įrom the beginning to the end of Act 1, I was completely hooked. To those who love puzzles, this is definitely the app that you’ll be hooked into.īonuses: there aren’t constant ads popping up every few seconds (they appear after you finish a chapter, but each chapter takes up like 25 mins or more), they don’t force you to watch the entire 30 seconds and lets you go after 5 seconds of watching them, and the creator of this game is incredibly generous on satisfying you with like 7 entire free chapters. Beautiful scenery, wonderful puzzles, and is VERY worthwhile. I certainly look forward to new offerings from this developer.Īlthough I am horrible at puzzle games, this game is still a banger. Setting all this aside, this is the kind of game that I buy in a heartbeat. So you have to rotate the view so that you see in all directions around you. There are a few things you learn at the beginning, such as the fact that you always have a limited view. But I played many games with much worse problems. Having said that, as noted, there were a few times when even given the answer I realized I never would’ve figured it out. ![]() Generally the hints will start out with a simple direction, giving you the opportunity to figure out most of the puzzle, and only giving you the answer if you really need it. The hint system is both good and necessary. I did find some of the puzzles a bit too much, not being able to make all the connections, even when I fell back on the hints. This game has several chapters, making it quite the bargain for the price. This game could be better, but it’s not terrible, the atmosphere makes it somewhat enjoyable, but I keep running into puzzles that frustrate me because the solution is nonsense and it’s cheapens the experience. You may have clicked the area multiple times but not hit the exact tiny thing you can’t really see. The lighting, sizing, and camera angle can make it impossible to notice some essential things unless a hint points them out. The solution is something that is not logical at all and cannot be reasonably expected to be tried. This is the worst one I’ve encountered so far, but there are a number of puzzles that are like that in the game. Therefore, no one would reasonably think to do that. If I loosen the hinges, the door would still be locked, and it would not come off. The problem with this is that it is complete nonsense. The solution is to use your pliers to loosed the hinges on the door. For example, there is a locked power box that you have to get into. For many solutions, there is absolutely no reason you should think to do what the game has you do. Unfortunately, the main mechanic of a game like this is the puzzles, and a number of the puzzles are just nonsense. This game has a great look and it is pretty interesting. Looks good, is somewhat interesting, but the puzzles… ![]()
